Minister for Land Management, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation Padma Aryal said implementation of women leadership is sheer challenge before the country.
“There is a need to carry out economic and development activities apart from bringing women to a leadership position. Equality in the society cannot take place unless women are economically empowered,” she said at a virtual dialogue with the theme of women’s role in social sector organised by the Federation of Community Forest Users’ Nepal (FECOFUN) on the occasion of Social Service Day on Friday.
President of the Parliamentary Committee on Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation of State’s Directive Principles, Policies and Responsibilities, Nira Jairu said the FECOFUN had helped many women reach the leadership position. Lawmaker at Sudurpaschim State Purna Joshi viewed that creating a prosperous society without participation and thoughts of women could not be imagined.
Similarly, Chief of the Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Ministry of Forest and Environment, Dr Radha Wagle praised women’s role and contribution to the society.
