Budhanilkantha Municipality mayor Uddhav Prasad Kharel has been infected with coronavirus. PCR test was conducted on him on Friday and he tested positive for coronavirus in the test results available today, Municipality’s spokesperson, Nawaraj Bhattarai, said.
According to Bhattarai, the Mayor’s driver had tested positive for the virus five days back. After this, Mayor Kharel also came under the ambit of contact tracing and PCR test was conducted on him.
Although infected, Kharel is in normal health condition. He has not even shown any symptoms. Bhattarai said the Mayor Kharel is in home isolation at present.
