The Contractors’ Federation has said the construction industry has been dented much by the COVID-19 which also ruined national economy.

With continued decline in economy following the slump in activities since the enforcement of nationwide lockdown on March 24, the construction companies were not paid on time even for the completed projects.

Issuing a press release on Tuesday, the Federation reminded that the construction entrepreneurs, as per government’s direction, continued activities risking lives in the lockdown. “In the adverse situation, the entrepreneurs continuously worked in various projects. But, the delayed payment has badly hampered the construction industry,” Federation General Secretary Roshan Dahal added.

He further said the non-payment for the completion of thousands of projects have left the entrepreneurs in financial and psychological stress.
